So excited to have Sam Martin Art join us at Bumblebee Gallery.
Sam is a self-taught artist who loves being in the great outdoors. Most of her inspiration comes from her love of walking in the countryside, she sees the landscape in blocks of colour and this is reflected in her paintings.
Sam lives in North Yorkshire with her husband, 2 children and border collie, who she says insists on bringing a ball to play with when she should be painting. Her favourite place happens to be the Lake District, Cumbria, hence many of her paintings are from the local summits of fells around us which she has walked with her family.
I love the vibrancy of colour and simplicity of shape which Sam uses to depict the landscapes around us. I especially love her wild flowers adding the illusion of movement.
